HOW TO MAKE ZOBO CUSTARD

HOW TO MAKE ZOBO CUSTARD

Ahhhhhh! Zobo custard? Yeah, it’s zobo custard; this is actually custard gingered up with some zobo juice. I love being able to recreate new recipes from existing recipes and I can’t wait to share some ‘modified by khajol’ recipes with you all.

PREP TIME: 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

Custard Powder

Zobo leaves

HOW TO

In a kettle, boil some zobo leaves in 2 cups of water. *Boil zobo leaves depending on how dark you want your zobo custard, I used few leaves but you can use up to a handful for darker result.

While you wait for the zobo juice to boil, measure out your custard powder in a bowl and stir in a few teaspoon of room temperature water.

Pour the boiled zobo juice into the bowl of custard and stir until the custard becomes thick (or until you get the consistency you desire).

Right there in the bowl is your zobo custard, add some honey or sugar and/or milk and serve with moin moin (bean pudding) or akara (bean cake).
